Types of Linear bearing:

  Linear bearings are a type of linear motion system used in conjunction with cylindrical shafts for linear travel. Due to the point contact between the load-bearing balls and the outer sleeve of the bearing, the steel balls roll with the least frictional resistance. Therefore, linear bearings have low friction, are relatively stable, do not change with the speed of the bearing, and can achieve smooth linear motion with high sensitivity and precision. Linear bearings also have their limitations. The most significant ones are their poor impact load capacity and load-carrying capacity. Secondly, linear bearings generate considerable vibration and noise during high-speed movement. The automatic selection of linear bearings is included. Linear bearings are widely used in the sliding components of industrial machinery such as precision machine tools, textile machinery, food packaging machinery, and printing machinery
 
Because the load-bearing ball makes point contact with the bearing, the operating load is small. Steel balls rotate with minimal frictional resistance, thus enabling high-precision and smooth movement.

Classification

(1) Standard type, clearance adjustable type linear bearings, open type linear bearings, extended type linear bearings, and general-purpose linear bearings

(2) Flanged linear bearings can be classified as: round flange type, square flange type, elliptical flange type, guide round flange type, guide square flange type, guide elliptical flange type, and extended round flange type.

By specification and format

It is divided into two major series, namely the LM and LME series. Its code name LM series is used in Asian, Southeast Asian countries, Japan, South Korea, China, etc. Based on metric dimensions, the tolerance of the outer diameter of the linear shaft used is generally h7. The LME series is widely used in regions such as Europe, the United States, Germany, and Italy. The standard size is imperial, and there are also metric sizes. The tolerance of the outer diameter of the linear shaft used is generally g6. The structural features of the two major series, except for the differences in size and hole diameter tolerance, are roughly the same in structure.

By shape:
1. Straight cylinder type (shaped like a cylinder, generally installed with retaining rings, used in occasions with smaller installation dimensions)

2. Flange type (With installation flanges at the end or in the middle, it can be installed with screws. Flanges are generally divided into three types: round, square and beveled.

3. Open type (shaped like a straight cylinder, with an axial slit on the surface, used in situations where gap adjustment is required, available in two types: large opening and small opening)
